Electric-Unlock, Key-Relock Detention Lock

The WLS-1520-EUKL is an electrically unlocked detention deadbolt for emergency-exit doors that are normally secured. A remote switch or fire-alarm input can release the door, while manual key relocking at the opening helps prevent unintended re-securing during an emergency.

Technical Overview

The WLS-1520-EUKL is a jamb-mounted electromechanical detention lock configured for electrically initiated emergency unlocking. A constant-duty 120 VAC solenoid retracts the deadbolt; after electrical release, the mechanism requires manual key operation at the door to relock.

  • Full 1″ deadbolt throw with a 3/4″ x 1-1/2″ cross section
  • Constant-duty 120 VAC solenoid with manual key unlock/relock capability
  • Withstands side loads greater than 850 lb
  • 11-ga stainless steel case and cover
  • Machined or cast stainless steel and non-ferrous internal components, including the strike plate
  • Lock-status switch and internal structural reinforcement bracket
  • Lock-status monitoring must be paired with a door-position switch to confirm that the door is closed and locked
